In 2019 we wrote about Volkswagen's plans to make more EVs than Tesla by 2022. Well… it won't. Volkswagen recently updated its plans and now aims to produce 800,000 electric vehicles by the end of 2022

That would be far below Tesla's production numbers. By the end of Q3, Tesla had already produced more than 900,000 electric vehicles.
Although Tesla is experiencing growing pains with its mega-factories in Texas and Germany, it has easily outgrown Volkswagen. Still, there are those in the industry who believe that both Tesla and Volkswagen will produce about 2.5 million electric cars by 2024, with a slight lead going to Volkswagen.
At German Autosport in Berkeley, we look forward to the increasing availability of electric Volkswagens. In the meantime, you can take your traditionally powered VW to our "Everything German" facility in Berkeley - our nationally ASE certified technicians have extensive Volkswagen repair experience and whether your VW is in need of a scheduled factory service or is facing major repairs, you can get it diagnosed and fixed - and got it right the first time.
So next time your Volkswagen needs a bit of TLC, give us a call to make an appointment or request an appointment online on our website.
